In order to “Go Green” we first had to figure out the purpose of it. As you may or may not know, to “Go Green” involves a lot more than simply “Going Green.” This is a fairly new activity, a way of working which is still in its infancy — and it’s often not as easy nor as “Green” as a you think it is.
For example — you recycle, right? But have you ever thought of the trucks that come by and pick up those recycling containers? They pollute the environment. The machines that do the recycling also pollute.
So, let’s say you’re doing a project on your house: replacing your old windows with new ones. You want to recycle your old ones. That sounds great — but when you look for a place that will recycle the old windows, you find there is no where to do it locally. Or — you decide to go with a cork floor. But once the floor is installed, you realize you can “only walk on it barefoot” — the floor chips very easily and stains even more easily. You practically have to float above the floor so you don’t damage it.
The bottom line is this: are you “Going Green” because you really want to be eco-friendly, or do you just want to “meet the requirements” and get money back from the government?
Both are fine; with Finecraft, the decision belongs with the homeowner. Our goal is to be as eco-feiendly as possible, while still being efficient, maintaining a high quality product and being as cost-efficient as possible. But in the end, the homeowner must decide which direction to go. We’re here to help you get where you want.
In addition, cost is a factor. “Going Green” is not always the cheap option. Eco-Friendy products are often hand-made, or produced in smaller quantities or produced with more expensive elements. So the homeowner must take all this into consideration before deciding to “Go Green.”
“Going Green” is part of the process. Every step of the way, the homeowner and contractor must evaluate if “Going Green” makes sense.
We’ll help you get where you want to go, no matter which direction that might be. We’re here to ensure your comfort, safety and 100% satisfaction… 100% of the time.
